Does Medicare Pay?

It is good to help your doctor to take the very best care of your skin.  Share your FBI investigation!

DermDetect offers a cost-effective alternative to everyone that is at risk of skin cancer.  Our Full Body Imaging(FBI) is performed by Dermographers that are trained to identify skin cancer for the Advanced Skin Cancer Screening.  If you have the need for dermoscopy, you will be invited to participate in the ASCS or you may choose to see your local dermatologist.  Either way, you have the baseline images to help your doctor manage your risk of skin cancer.  Do something to help your doctor treat skin cancer early when you find it with us and show it to them on your smartphone!

Medicare does not cover screening for skin cancer in asymptomatic people.

They will pay for less than 10% of those classified at high-risk.  Reimbursement in the medical office is not sufficient to cover the cost to administer, so most practices only use this valuable tool when it would be considered malpractice to not perform the test.

Today with copay and deductibles, many are simply using their HSA to pay DermDetect the $99.  You control your images.  You look for changes easily using the 3D avatar.  You take images of changes and you now have helped us all get you the treatment you require.

Is it worth 0.27 cents per day?

As a Kaiser patient, my primary care was responsible for my skin health.  Prior to getting the Advanced Skin Cancer Screening, my PCP identified three moles for biopsy. The ASCS  was my next step prior to "three surgical biopsies"!  Sancy read my ASCS and was only concerned about one spot and color-coded it RED.  That single spot was biopsied by Kaiser at the "Single lesion clinic" and Cutaneous SCC was the result of the pathology report.  The Dermatologist at Kaiser surgically removed the SCC.

If you need dermoscopy you may choose to see your local dermatologist or to participate in the ASCS collaboration.

With the ASCS there is no financial incentive to perform a biopsy.  A "Red" indicates that immediate medical care is recommended.  It is up to your doctor to choose your treatment.  It may only be cryo or cream?  If it is a biopsy, we will match the results to your ASCS images for machine learning.

I paid only $99 and during my  FBI screening, we found a few "ugly ducklings".  It can take so long to get an appointment with my doctor, I decided to pay the extra fee and get an academic dermatologist opinion first.  My report was available in less than a week.  When I told my Dermatologist that I had a RED confirmed by dermoscopy and an academic dermatologist, they moved me to the top of the list and I was treated right away!
